BREEDING DIRECTORY - PIONUS
The Maxi is the larger of the Pionus' and is about 250 grams. They are the most common of the Pionus'. They are nice for people who want a parrot but not anything too complicated.
Their body sits more horizontal compared to other parrots and they have a short tail.
Talking ability: Males usually talk.
They have soft voices and will easily learn several words or phrases and a whistle or two.
Noise:  Maxamillians are generally quiet, only making noise when talking, or when afraid or startled.
They are known to make a panting/wheezing sound when upset.


Life span: 40 years or more.
